It is very important to clean out a humidifier at home. A humidifier will moisten the air inside the house and make it easier to breath. On the other hand, a humidifier with a dirty filter can pump dangerous bacteria into the air instead or ruin the humidifier over time. Thankfully, humidifiers can be cleaned out at home using common supplies.
First, unplug the humidifier, then remove the filter. Hold it under the faucet and rinse it with water to wash away any impurities.
Remove the water tank of the humidifier and pour the old water. Fill the water tank with vinegar and make sure it covers the bottom and sides of the tank and let it sit for an hour or two hours. Pour the vinegar from the water tank and rinse the tank when you are finished.
Use a sponge with water or a wipe to clean the frame of the humidifier. This prevents dust and other debris from entering the water tank.
Fill the humidifier with water few essential oil drops. Congratulations! You are ready to use your humidifier again.
